UFC Featherweight Champion Alexander Volkanovski spoke about a potential fight with the newly-champion of the lightweight division Islam Makhachev.

Earlier it was reported that the meeting of the two champions could take place on February 12 at the UFC 284 tournament in Perth, Australia.

“I will not try to become much bigger. I fight best at the weight I am at now. People will talk about my size, but everyone who fought me knows that I have enough physical strength. In February, fans will be able to verify this.

All opponents considered me low, but then I started to beat them and their facial expressions quickly changed. Did he try to hurt me with words about my height? I know everything about my height. And I know that I am a champion. Everything is fine with me, and I will continue to extend my championship streak. I will show Islam what the “shorties” are capable of,” the Australian said in an interview with MMA Junkie.
