Bisping: 'If Oliveira beats Makhachev, he'll be the greatest lightweight'

Former UFC Middleweight Champion Michael Bisping expressed the opinion that Charles Oliveira will become the greatest lightweight in the history of mixed martial arts if he manages to get the better of Islam Makhachev in the upcoming fight.

“Khabib is the king of lightweight. He's the best? Or is Oliveira the best of all time? If Makhachev can defeat Oliveira, then this issue can be closed. But if Charles defeats Islam? In my opinion, then he will become the greatest in the history of lightweight, because he beat all the main contenders for the belt. It's hard to ignore the numbers, the history and the energy that comes from Oliveira," Bisping said on his podcast.

Recall that the fight between Oliveira and Makhachev will take place on October 22 at the UFC 280 tournament in Abu Dhabi, UAE. At stake in the meeting will be a vacant belt in the lightweight division.
