UFC Welterweight Champion Leon Edwards told under what conditions he would fight with Jorge Masvidal.
“Masvidal is a fighter that I definitely want to have on my track record, but as he keeps losing, for the company and for the fans, it’s hard to find meaning in our confrontation. Of course, there is no doubt that this fight will sell out because of our backstory. If Masvidal comes out and wins a big win, then this is the fight I want. Even before the fight with Usman and after, I said that I would give him the opportunity to fight for the title, but my coach dissuaded me, saying that he was not worthy. Then I was just emotional. To be honest, it doesn't matter to me who to fight. Whether it's the #1 contender or just a money fight, I don't care, because I believe I'm the best."
Recall that Edwards won the championship belt by knocking out Kamaru Usman in the fifth round.
