Lomachenko: "I'm motivated by the opportunity to become the undisputed champion"

Vasily Lomachenko

Shakur Stevenson (19-0, 9 KOs) has already conquered the featherweight and second featherweight divisions and is now storming the top of the lightweight division, where one of the leaders remains Vasily Lomachenko (16-2, ...

Lomachenko is predicted to fight Devin Haney (28-0, 15 KOs) in the future if he defends all four lightweight belts in a rematch against George Kambosos (20-1, 10 KOs) this Saturday. Promoter Bob Arum wants to bring Haney and Lomachenko together.

“I have worked in pairs with Stevenson in the past, I have not met Haney yet. So I have no way to compare them. Shakur is a smart and disciplined boxer, but when he trained with me, he was still fighting at featherweight. Today he is bigger and probably stronger. It was good sparring," said the ex-world champion in three weight categories.

“I have a clear goal in front of me that motivates me. I want to regain the world title and collect all the lightweight belts. The fight with Ortiz will bring me closer to this. I hope that later I will be able to meet the winner of Haney's rematch with Kambosos," Lomachenko added.
