Former UFC middleweight contender Paulo Costa spoke about the decision of the former dominant champion of the featherweight division Jose Aldo hang gloves on a nail.
“I was surprised by this. This shocked me a little, because he had one fight left under the contract, and the tournament in Rio de Janeiro was ahead. I think he should have held a farewell fight there, that would be perfect.
But, apparently, he no longer wanted to perform. He decided that his time was up. It's sad, but he's a great fighter and our idol," Costa told The MMA Hour.
Recall that the 36-year-old Aldo announced his retirement in mid-September.
