Ortiz: 'Beating Lomachenko will take me to title fight'
Jamaine Ortiz (16-0-1, 8 KOs), who will face Vasily Lomachenko in an October 29 bout at Madison Square Garden, last fought in May when he fired former world champion Jamel "Semper Fi" Herring. Ortiz won by unanimous decision after ten rounds. Last year, he also, despite two knockdowns, snatched a draw in a duel with Joseph Adorno. The fight with Lomachenko for Ortiz is a huge jump up in the class.
“I am very excited about this fight,” Ortiz said. - Vasily Lomachenko is a great fighter, but I'm here to win. As soon as I win this fight, I will aim for the opportunity to win the world title. For me, it's a dream come true."
