George Cambosos Jr., who defeated Lopez a year later, chose Lomachenko as his next opponent, but Lomachenko had to turn down the offer due to the Russian invasion. At the moment, Lomachenko is in the United States, where he is completing preparations for the fight on October 29 against Jamaine Ortiz. At the same time, according to Vasily, mentally he is always with Ukraine.

“Every day I pray that the war will end in Ukraine,” Lomachenko recently said in an interview with Top Rank.

Lomachenko rejected Kambosos' offer, he met with Devin Haney and lost in a very unilateral decision. Despite this, Kambosos quickly took advantage of the clause on immediate revenge and now will have to meet the American again on October 16 in Melbourne.

According to the head of Top Rank Bob Arum, the confrontation between Lomachenko and Haney is what he most desires, however, like the Ukrainian himself.

“I am preparing for this moment. I need this chance, I need this fight for the title of absolute champion," Lomachenko said.
