2nd WBC Lightweight Isaac "Pitbull" Cruz (24-2-1, 17 KOs) scored a landslide second round stoppage victory over Eduardo Ramirez (27-3-3, 12 KOs) in the WBC lightweight title eliminator. Ramirez turned on the bike from the first round, and Cruz had to actively catch up with him.
In the second round, Cruz landed a devastating left hook and Ramirez fell heavily to the floor face down. The referee allowed Ramirez to continue the fight, but after some time, Cruz had already delivered three blows to the opponent's head, Ramirez was again on the floor and the referee had already stopped the fight completely. Stop time 2:27.
Despite Cruz becoming the mandatory challenger for WBC champion Devin Haney, the PBC will instead look to set up a rematch with WBA 'regular' champion Gervonta 'Tank' Davis instead.
