Former world heavyweight champion Kyiv Mayor Vitali Klitschko addressed his compatriot Oleksandr Usyk ahead of his upcoming fight with British Anthony Joshua.
“On August 20, another battle for Ukraine will take place. Let this be a boxing match, but victories in everything are important to us. Oleksandr Usyk will enter the ring to the anthem of Ukraine and with the Ukrainian flag. Millions of people around the world will follow the rematch between Usyk and Joshua. The whole world will see the victory of Ukraine. Sasha, we believe in you, we support you and hold our fists. Victory will be ours!” Klitschko said in a video message on one of his social networks.
In the first fight with Joshua in September 2021, Oleksandr Usyk won by unanimous decision. The rematch will take place tonight, August 20, in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia.
