White: Chimaev will be title contender if Diaz wins

UFC President Dana White confirmed that Khamzat Chimaev will become the main contender for the welterweight championship belt if they win in the next fight.

On September 11 at UFC 279, the undefeated Swede will face Nate Diaz.

“I don’t usually talk about it, but it’s fair to say that if Chimaev beats Diaz, then the fight with Usman is the right meeting to arrange. Usman killed all the top fighters in the division in the second round, so this makes sense, ”MMA Junkie quotes White.

Recall that on the night of August 21 at UFC 278 in Salt Lake City Usman will fight with Leon Edwards.
