Robin van Roosmalen, the first two-weight champion in the history of the Glory promotion, has announced his retirement. Pokerface wrote about this on his Instagram:

“It is with pain that I announce my retirement from sports today... Over the past couple of weeks, I have come to the conclusion that I will not be able to return to the level I was before the accident. Normally I would let my ego win, but I know how dangerous this game is when your health is not where it should be. Looking back at my career, I can say that I am proud of my achievements. What started as a competition in small tournaments in a local gym has grown into a seven-time Glory Kickboxing World Championship ... ”, the fighter wrote.

Recall that van Roosmalen left Glory, having signed a contract with the top MMA league Bellator, but could not make his debut in the organization due to the pandemic. And then the Dutch fighter got into a serious accident, in which his sister died, and he himself was seriously injured.
