Jamaican-American UFC middleweight Uriah Hall announced his retirement from mixed martial arts.

“It is with great sadness that I announce that I am leaving the best sport in the world. I will miss the incredible UFC staff who have become my family and the mentors I have met along the way. The UFC gave me the best opportunity to go completely outside of my comfort zone. Over the years, I have faced some of the best in the world at the highest level. Although I did not reach the title of world champion, but I achieved something in this sport - I faced my fears and became a champion in life.

I want to thank my team, my coaches, my friends and my family who have always supported me. You were all the driving force that inspired me every day. Finally, I want to give special thanks to Dana White for giving me the opportunity to face contemporary gladiators. Thank you for always supporting me in sorrow and joy, ”Hall wrote on Instagram.

In professional MMA, the 38-year-old Hall fought 28 fights, scoring 17 wins and suffering 11 losses.
