Floyd Mayweather Jr became a target for animal rights organizations after demonstrating on social media that he installed an $18,000 mink fur car seat in his luxury car.

Mayweather's actions were most widely criticized by PETA - People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals. An international organization demands an apology from the former world champion in five weight categories and an end to advertising such luxury goods.

The American retired from professional sports five years ago, but regularly takes part in demonstration fights. The last of these exhibition fights took place in the spring, the next one is scheduled for autumn.
