Shevchenko surprised that Makhachev is the favorite to fight Oliveira
UFC Women's Flyweight Champion Valentina Shevchenko admitted that she was surprised by bookmakers' quotes for the upcoming fight for the vacant lightweight belt between Charles Oliveira and Islam Makhachev.
The Russian opened as a clear favorite of this meeting: most bookmakers offer odds of 1.5 for his victory, while they give 2.7 for Oliveira.
“Oliveira has fought more top class opponents than Islam. He fought all the best fighters in the division, defeated them all and really proved that he rightfully owns the belt.
Islam has never met someone who has a higher rating than him. I mean the top fighters, from the top 5. This complicates the understanding of betting quotes. But anyway, let's enjoy the fight," Shevchenko said in an interview with Middle Easy.
