Billy Joe Saunders (30-1, 14 KOs) seriously considered the option of ending his career after losing to Saul Alvarez. But thirteen months after the defeat and serious injury, the former world middleweight and super middleweight champion returned to training.

Saunders, according to eyewitnesses, gained a lot of extra pounds, but decided to pull himself together and went to the famous Ingle Jim Boxing Gym in Sheffield.

“Billy has been working out for a while to get back on his feet a bit and get out of the house. We need to sit down with his dietitian, Greg Marriott, and come up with a workout plan. Billy can enter the ring in December,” said Dominic Ingle, who coached Saunders from 2017 to 2019.

Recall that in May last year, the Briton was defeated by the famous Saul Alvarez. After the eighth round, Saunders was down on points (74-78, 74-78, 75-77) and remained in his corner due to a broken zygomatic bone, refusing to fight.
