After a four-year break, the former world champion in three weight categories is going to return to the ring Abner Mares (31-3-1, 15 KOs). On September 4, the American boxer will face Miguel Flores (25-4, 12 KOs) at a boxing evening in Los Angeles.
Mares, 36, lost to Leo Santa Cruz on points in his last professional appearance. It seemed that the Mexican had already said goodbye to the professional ring, but recently announced that he had decided to return. Flores hasn't boxed in over a year.
The main event of the evening will be the fight of former world heavyweight champion Andy Ruiz (34-2, 22 KOs) against Luis Ortiz (33-2, 28 KOs). On the same evening, a lightweight fight between Isaac Cruz (23-2-1, 16 KOs) and Eduardo Ramirez (27-2-3, 12 KOs) will also take place.
