Francis avoided arrest for knocking out a man on the street

Julius Francis (23-24-1, 12 KOs), one of the famous European heavyweights of the 90s, was the champion of Great Britain and the British Commonwealth and recently reminded of himself again by the fact that knocked out aggressive man. And it seems that Francis will not be punished particularly severely for this incident. In the end, the police did not arrest anyone, and Roger Wade, the boss of the Boxpark company, in which the former boxer now works as a security guard, came to the defense of his employee.

“Julius is one of the friendliest people I have ever met in my life. He helps others and teaches little children. He and the rest of our security team tried for a quarter of an hour to calm this man and his colleagues from aggressive behavior. They insulted and spat at our customers and employees, and even beat some of them. Eventually, one of these men ran into Julius. Julius acted only in self-defense. Such aggressive behavior should not be tolerated. I support Julius," Wade wrote in a statement.

57-year-old Francis retired in 2006 after a series of fourteen consecutive defeats against strong opponents. His resume includes victories over Pele Reed (TKO 3), Scott Welch (PTS 12) and Danny Williams (PTS 12).

Interestingly, after the incident, the track record of Julius Francis was updated on his Wikipedia page.
