Eddie Hearn, in an interview with IFL TV, said that the chances of organizing a fight Derek Chisora (32-11, 23 KOs) with Adam Kownacki (20-2, 15 KOs) are decreasing. The Polish boxer has not yet signed a contract for the fight, and the British promoter already has an agreement with other potential opponents.
“We are in negotiations all the time because we think it will be a great fight. However, there are 6 weeks left until the evening of boxing, and we need to announce something this week. Kownacki is a good opponent who will give a lot of emotions and attract Polish fans, but we also have 2-3 other opponents who are also great for the fight with Chisora,” said the head of Matchroom Boxing.
The fight between Chisora and Kovnacki could have taken place on July 9 in London. For Kownacki, this would be the first professional performance outside the United States, and, according to American journalist Dan Raphael, the financial offer for this fight for the Pole exceeds one million dollars.
Kownacki has been training in Florida and has been preparing for a return to the ring for several weeks now. If the Pole decides not to fight Chisora, his next fight may take place in the summer in the USA.
