WBA lightweight champion Gervonta "Tank" Davis (27-0, 25 KOs) scored an early victory in the sixth round over Rolando "Rolly" Romero (14-1, 12 KOs) in front of 18,570 spectators in Saturday night's main event at Barclay's Center in Brooklyn, New York.

The fight took place in a tactical fight, in which Rolly held out until the sixth round, until Davis delivered a left blow to the target and sent Romero to the floor of the ring. Rolly was able to get up but remained shaken, and referee David Fields signaled a stoppage at 2:39.

“He was strong, of course, but there were a couple of punches that I warmed up, and he caught me, and I thought:“ I can’t mess with him, ”Davis said after the fight. - I know when to show strength to my opponents, and when to relax. The interesting thing is that I didn't even invest in punches. He just walked towards them. Something like Manny Pacquiao was caught. I didn’t even hit him hard, it was he who went to the blow, although before the fight he said that it would happen to me.

Romero said after the fight that he wanted a rematch. “I want to fight again,” Romero said. — I took it apart for parts and won every round. I just jumped ahead and missed one stupid hit."
