Former world cruiserweight champion Johnny Nelson, who is now a television pundit, commented on the latest news that the former world heavyweight champion Deontay Wilder (42-2-1, 41 KOs) plans to continue his sports career.

“I cannot stop now, I must continue this journey. I can't end my career like this. This journey is not over yet, I will continue it!” Wilder, 36, said yesterday.

"The news of Wilder's return is wonderful. We'll see who he faces next, but remember that he's a multi-millionaire and probably won't be happy with fights for two or three million dollars. He will be looking for something more, and this is definitely a fight with Anthony Joshua. It would be an amazing meeting,” Nelson said.

At one time, there was a lot of talk about Wilder's fight with Joshua and negotiations were underway to organize it, but in the end, the American chose a rematch with Tyson Fury in February 2020, in which he lost ahead of schedule and the prospect of a fight with AJ receded into the background.

In October 2021, Wilder's third fight with the King of the Gypsies took place, again lost by the American ahead of schedule. On the other hand, Joshua lost to Oleksandr Usyk in September 2021 and lost his IBF, WBA and WBO championship belts. In July, he will try to return them in the planned revenge with the Ukrainian in the Middle East.
