Middleweight Zhanibek "Qazaq Style" Alimkhanuly (12-0, 8 KOs) coped with Danny Dignum (14-1-1, 8 KOs) in less than two rounds and won the vacant interim WBO title in the main event of the evening at Resorts World in Las Vegas. Alimkhanuly sent Dignum to the floor in the first round, and then finished him off with a series of punches in the second round. Fight stop time 2:11.
“I haven’t shown my best shots yet. Maybe in my next fights,” Alimkhanuly said immediately after the fight. - I'm in the ring now and I want to tell every champion in this weight category that I'm waiting for you here. I ask every champion to come out and fight me!"
Zhanibek's coach Buddy McGirt added: "He gets better and better with every fight, with every training camp, because he wants to learn. When we start camp, he tells me what he wants to work on and we do it."
