Alvarez is the fifth highest paid athlete in the world

Saul Alvarez ranked fifth in the list of the highest paid athletes in the world compiled by Sportico. The list includes sports performance and advertising revenue from June 2021 to May 2022.

According to Sportico, Canelo earned $89 million during this period. Basketball player LeBron James ($126.9 million) topped the list. The Mexican boxer was also overtaken by Lionel Messi (122 million), Cristiano Ronaldo (115 million) and Neymar (103 million).

The list also includes Tyson Fury - 14th, $69 million, and Jake Paul - 45th, $37 million. There was only one MMA fighter in the top 100: Conor McGregor - 22nd, $52 million.
