Oliveira: "People think I'll be desperate to knock Gaethje down"

UFC Lightweight Champion Charles Oliveira spoke about the plan for the upcoming fight with Justin Gaethje.

“I will be myself in this fight. People think, "Ahh, Charles will be desperate to knock him to the ground." Forget about it. For all the time of my performances, I have never tried to transfer an opponent at any cost.

I am a full-fledged MMA fighter. The fight will start in the standing position, we will exchange blows. When it is possible to have a takedown, I will try to do it. When there is an opportunity to compete with him at the net, I will do it. I also train standing wrestling. I'm not stupid," Oliveira told YouTube channel Brazilian MMA Legends.

Oliveira vs Gaethje will headline UFC 274 on May 7 in Phoenix.
