Former Dominant UFC Light Heavyweight Champion John Jones said that his debut in the heavyweight category would take place in early September.

Earlier, the head of promotion Dana White said that Jones' next opponent would be Stipe Miocic, and the fight itself could take place in the summer.

“Stipe said he would be in peak shape by September. I'm frustrated but patient - I want the greatest heavyweight in history to be in the absolute best condition. I'll wait until September. No excuses,” Jones tweeted.

Jones, 34, has not appeared in the octagon since February 2020, when he defeated Dominic Reyes on points. Later, the American left the title vacant due to disagreements with the promotion management.
