The authors of the World Boxing Super Series project are in no hurry to announce the next draws of the Muhammad Ali trophy. Plans to organize the next WBSS seasons are allegedly hindered by the coronavirus pandemic.

In the spring of last year, the third season of the WBSS was announced and it was announced that the competition would definitely take place in the women's super bantamweight division. However, no further information on this subject has been received since then.

Kalle Sauerland however claims that official news about the continuation of the WBSS will be out soon. In the first season, boxers competed in super middleweight and first heavyweight, and in the second season, boxers competed in bantamweight, superlightweight and again in first heavyweight.

“We'll sit down and see what's possible soon - we miss WBSS. The management is all for it, as are the investors. But it has to be something that is in the spirit of the World Boxing Super Series. Boxing has recovered from the pandemic, but there have been no major tournaments yet,” Sauerland said.
