The American, who recently acted as a free agent and signed a new agreement with a promoter for each fight, joined Top Rank for this fight and will partner with Bob Arum's organization for three more fights in a row. Previously, Haney worked with Matchroom Boxing. Thus, Haney had complete freedom of action in negotiations for the biggest fights.
Last November, Kambosos defeated Teofimo Lopez on points.
