On Friday, it became known that the IBF, WBA and WBO heavyweight champion Oleksandr Usyk (19-0, 13 KOs) decided to start preparing for the rematch with Anthony Joshua (24-2, 22 KOs). This fight should take place around June. Former European middleweight champion, now manager and commentator Matthew McLean, Joshua's compatriot, doubts that the Briton will be able to regain his belts.

“I think that the rematch with Usyk is not the best fight for Joshua at the moment. I thought so right after their first fight ended. Revenge is never a good choice for AJ. I know that now he will work with Angel Fernandez as head coach, but will it help? Fernandez is not really a new coach. He knows Joshua very well, and now he has been promoted to head coach. Maybe it's a plus that they know each other so well, but it's hard to say," McLean said.

Recall that Usyk outboxed Joshua in September last year at the Tottenham Stadium in London, and won by unanimous decision. Winner Joshua-Usyk II may face the winner of Tyson Fury vs. Dillian Whyte for the WBC title at Wembley Stadium on April 23.
