In the main event of the evening in Montreal, Quebec, Canada, in the WBA welterweight eliminator between unbeaten fighters "Captain" Gabriel Maestre (4-0-1, 3 KOs) and Taras Shelestyuk (19-0-1, 11 KOs) the judges counted. Maestre seemed to have a slight advantage during the fight, but in the end, the judges counted Shelestyuk 97-93, Maestre 96-64 and 95-95. For the two-time Olympian with the Venezuelan national team, this was the first fight since his controversial fight with Mikal Fox last summer.
Shelestyuk-Maestre ended in a draw
