Bellator heavyweight title holder Ryan Bader shared his thoughts on the fight between the champion of the promotion in the light heavyweight division Vadim Nemkov and Corey Anderson.
“Nemkov is very good, a very dynamic drummer, he uses kicks very well. But the problem is that it can be translated and after translation it slows down. He spends a lot of energy getting up from the stalls. I think if Phil Davis bet on takedowns in the first rounds, he could beat him.
And I think this is exactly what Corey himself will do - betting on takedowns at the beginning of the fight, exhausting Nemkov with wrestling. If you slow down all this dynamics of Nemkov in the standing position, then he is already a different fighter. Corey is very smart in his use of wrestling and I'm leaning towards him winning the fight," Bader said in an interview with the Snack MMA YouTube channel.
Recall that Nemkov and Anderson will meet in the finals of the Bellator Light Heavyweight Grand Prix. Earlier, the head of promotion Scott Cocker reported that the fight could take place in late February - early March.
