Beterbiev-Smith unification fight could take place in June

Negotiations are underway to conclude a contract for a light heavyweight unification fight between the WBC and IBF world champion Artur Beterbiev (17-0, 17 KOs) and WBO champion title Joe Smith Jr. (28-3, 22 KOs).

The fight should take place in June in the USA. According to unofficial information, Smith would like to receive $1.8 million for the fight with the Russian.

The last time the American boxed was in January, when he defeated Steven Gerrard by knockout. Beterbiev stopped Marcus Braun in his last appearance.
