Ngannou is ready to part with the championship belt

UFC Heavyweight Champion Francis Ngannou announced his readiness to part with the belt if the promotion decides to make the title vacant.

“No, it doesn't bother me because, after all, it's just a belt. As soon as they take the title from me, I will become a free agent. I deserve the belt, but it doesn't make me a champion. With or without him, I'm still a champion. So let's get this clear. Nothing will change my status, ”Ngannou said on The MMA Hour.

On January 23 at UFC 270, Ngannou made his first title defense, defeating Cyril Gan via unanimous decision.
