Conceiçao wins over Martinez

2016 Olympic gold medalist Robson Conceicao (17-1, 8 KOs) spoiled the debut in Top Rank of the previously undefeated Xavier Martinez (17-1, 11 KOs) by defeating him via unanimous decision in the WBC featherweight 10-round final eliminator in the main event of the evening at the Hard Rock Arena in Tulsa, Oklahoma.

Prior to the fight, Conceicao was considered a minor underdog after a controversial loss to WBC champion Oscar Valdez, but outboxed and outplayed Martinez 99-91, 100-90, 98-92.

Also tonight, undefeated welterweight Giovanni Cabrera (19-0, 7 KOs) returned after a 27-month hiatus to win an eight-round unanimous decision over Rene Telles Giron (16-2, 10 KOs). Judging scores: 77-75, 78-74, 78-74.

American Olympian welterweight Tiger Johnson (2-0, 1 KOs) defeated Xavier Madrid (3-1, 1 KOs) by unanimous decision. Judging score: three times 40-36.

Undefeated heavyweight Stefan "Big Shot" Shaw (16-0, 12 KOs) stopped Joey "Tank" Dawejko (21-10-4, 12 KOs) in the eighth round. Dawejko's corner stopped the fight at 1:04. Davejko was dissatisfied with the stoppage of his mentors.
