Taktarov: "Makhachev can beat Oliveira"

Russian veteran of mixed martial arts Oleg Taktarov shared his thoughts on a potential fight between the UFC lightweight champion Charles Oliveira and Islam Makhachev.

“Makhachev is stronger than Oliveira on the ground. In the stance - maybe a little weaker, but Oliveira's stance, in general, is calculated. So, I hope that Makhachev can become a champion. Another thing is when they will have a fight and whether there will be one at all. The life of a fighter is short enough. And even more so the championship - it is necessary to follow very strictly, with whom and when to fight. I hope the stars will align and he will receive the belt this year or early next," Taktarov said.

Recall that Makhachev's next fight will be against Beneil Dariush on February 26 at UFC Fight Night 202.
