An extremely popular blogger who is getting better and better at boxing, Jake Paul (5-0, 4 KOs) defeated two former UFC stars Tyron Woodley (twice) and Ben Askren in his bouts this year. Forbes magazine claims that Paul's earnings for the above three fights amounted to forty million dollars.
This huge amount, combined with income from other sources, added up to $45 million in Paul's annual earnings. So if he was on last year's Forbes list of the highest paid athletes in the world, he would be the highest ranked boxer. Paul would take 20th place, ahead of sports giants such as Phil Mickelson ($41 million) and Novak Djokovic ($34.5 million) in particular. He would also overtake the only boxer on the Top 50 list, Saul Alvarez ($34 million), who was in 48th place. Another thing is that the list includes income from May 2020 to May 2021. Nevertheless, Paul's achievements are considered by many analysts to be enough for him to be called the highest paid boxer in the world.
According to unofficial data, Paul's fight with Ben Askren in April brought in more than a million broadcasts sold, the August fight with Woodley - more than half a million, and the December rematch - about 100,000. However, given that Woodley was a replacement for the injured Tommy Fury in December, as well as that the fact that he was spectacularly knocked out (the ending of the fight reached a huge audience), one can expect further development of the financial and sports career of a phenomenal blogger.
