Cormier doesn't believe in Jones' heavyweight championship

Former UFC two weight division champion Daniel Cormier does not think that Jon Jones has the strength to win the title in the heavyweight division.

“I think Jones will be in the heavyweight division and he will fight for the title, but he will lose - to Ciryl Gane or Francis Ngannou. Long downtime, the difference in weight and the level of these guys - all this will be a problem for him. It’s not that Jones has gotten worse, but that these fighters are heavyweights of a different level,” Cormier told ESPN.

Jones has not appeared in the cage since February 2020, when he defeated Dominic Reyes by unanimous decision. Later, the American left the light heavyweight title vacant due to disagreements with the UFC leadership.
