International Boxing Association (AIBA) President Umar Kremlev believes the WBC and IBF light heavyweight titleholder Arthur Beterbiev would have stopped the undisputed super middleweight champion Saul Alvarez if the Mexican agreed to fight him.

“Is that why Canelo doesn't want to fight Beterbiev? I know what Arthur's team suggested, but Alvarez's team refused. Because they seize the moment more comfortably. I don't see any superboxer in Canelo. Yes, he is a good boxer, it is not discussed. But you have to fight the strongest. So I would have watched the fight between Alvarez and Beterbiev.

"What would be the outcome? I think Beterbiev would have won. And he would have won by knockout, because Alvarez "throws" his arms too much and uses mainly his laterals. And Beterbiev has both straight and side strikes and short strikes. This is his chance. That's why Alvarez escapes. Well, he will not fight with Beterbiev. For him to agree - this is some kind of miracle must happen," Kremlev said.
