David Diamante, who received serious injuries on Tuesday, including to his spine, in a motorcycle accident in Brooklyn, provided some information about his condition.
“On Tuesday, a team of distinguished neurosurgeons led by Dr. Joseph Pyun restored my spine. On Wednesday evening, with great difficulty, I managed to get up and take a few small steps using the walker. This is a good sign. I will walk again. When my condition stabilizes, I will be taken to a rehabilitation center,” said the well-known ring announcer.
“I understand the seriousness of my situation. My body is in need of healing after such a severe shock. Even with the medications I take, the pain is excruciating. This morning, when I woke up, I felt as if I were in a torture chamber. Everything hurt. It's hard to describe. But pain means that the nerves are working and I am alive,” added Diamante, thanking everyone for their care and words of support.
