Cormier names UFC Fighter of the Year

Former UFC two weight division champion Daniel Cormier named the best fighter of the year in the promotion.

“At first I chose Cyril Gan, but then I thought about who and how Kamaru Usman won this year. We do not have the same dominant champions who have competed so often and have been at the top for so long. Kamaru not only defended his belt three times, but also made the jump in terms of his resume, recognition and popularity. It has reached a new level in all aspects,” Cormier said.

Recall that in 2021 Usman made three successful defenses of his welterweight belt, knocking out Gilbert Burns and Jorge Masvidal and defeating Colby Covington by unanimous decision.
