UFC Lightweight Champion Charles Oliveira declared his readiness to conduct the next belt defense against Conor McGregor despite the fact that the career of the Irish superstar is going through far from the best times.

“If before I had a choice between a title match and a money fight, then I would have chosen a fight for the belt. However, now I have achieved my goal and become a champion. If today I had the opportunity to fight for money with Conor, I would do it."

"When I was on the seventh line in the rankings, no one wanted to take a challenge from me. Now I'm a champion and ready to fight anyone the UFC gives me. I think now I deserve that the division wait a bit. It's time to think about family and children,” the Brazilian said.

Last weekend, Oliveira made his first belt defense, strangling Dustin Poirier in the third round.
