Parker: "I'm risking my career"

This coming Saturday, seven months after the first fight, there will be a rematch between Joseph Parker (29-2, 21 KO) and Derek Chisora (32-11, 23 KO). “I'm risking my career,” says the New Zealander, former WBO heavyweight champion.

“Before the first fight, I had little time to prepare with the new coach Andy Lee. We now know each other much better and will be much better prepared. He's showing me new things, so the long prep camp helped us a lot now. We have worked very hard day in and day out and the results will be visible this Saturday. I want to look much better than in May and win convincingly this time. I will be more aggressive and dominate this fight, although Derek will be better too and will of course make changes to his tactics. But the truth is that if I contribute, I will not only win, but I will do it ahead of schedule, ”said the former world champion.

“I love Derek and respect him very much, but when the gong sounds, there will be no friendship in the ring. I am looking forward to this fight. In the first fight I did not manage to knock him out, but I deservedly won. Now the goal is to win in a much better style, ”concluded Parker.
