Former UFC interim title holder Dustin Poirier commented on his defeat in a duel with the champion Charles Oliveira at UFC 269 in Las Vegas. The American lost by choke hold in the third round.

“Why was I passive on the ground in the second round? I was far from the net, so I decided not to take risks, not to push him away, so as not to give him his back. I made clean hits, but Charles is a champion by right, he is very persistent. My plan was not to rush and gradually disassemble it,” Poirier said after the fight.

Earlier the head of the UFC Dana White reported that the next opponent of Oliveira will be Justin Gaethje.
