Fight Gulamiryan-Egorov for WBA title canceled

Arsen Gulamiryan (26-0, 18 KOs) withdrew from the fight with Alexei Egorov (11-0, 7 KOs) due to positive coronavirus test. The fight for the WBA heavyweight championship belt was supposed to be the main event of tonight in Yekaterinburg.

According to the organizers, the fight will take place on another day. Promotional tenders for the organization of this event were won by the "World of Boxing" promotion organization with an application of 210 thousand dollars. According to the regulations of the World Boxing Association, the money will be divided in a ratio of 65 to 35 in favor of the champion, which means payment of 136.5 thousand to Gulamiryan and 73.5 thousand to Yegorov.

For Gulamiryan, this will be a return to the ring after a two-year break. In his last fight, the Armenian defeated Constantin Bejenara by technical knockout. Yegorov also had a long break - the last time he boxed was in March last year.
