90-year-old American promoter Don King won bids to host a fight for the WBA regular heavyweight belt between Manuel Charr (31-4, 17 KO) and Trevor Bryan (21-0, 15 KO). The winning bid was one million dollars ($ 1,000,101).

The fight was supposed to take place on January 30 in the United States, but King, the American's promoter, did his best to prevent Charr from arriving at the venue on time. The Syrian with a German passport was stripped of his WBA belt and made him a "champion in recess", for which the boxer had to sue the Association and King himself.

This time, the WBA introduced additional tender rules. King had to pay 25% of the bid ($ 250,000) and personally appear at the auction. Battle contracts must be signed no later than December 29th.

The fight is likely to take place on January 29 in the United States. At the same event, the WBC first heavyweight champion Ilunga Makabu and Thabiso Mchunu will fight. The winner will cross gloves with Saul Alvarez in May.
