“Madison Square Garden is a special place for me because during my professional career I have had many memorable fights here. This is the Mecca of boxing," said Lomachenko. "Thank you, Commey, you are a strong fighter. I think we will give the fans a very interesting meeting. As I said, he is very strong and has a size advantage. He has a lot of experience and a big heart. I am very pleased with the upcoming meeting, because this is the next step in my boxing career, and I hope it will be of interest to the fans."

"I feel myself good. This is the second time I will be performing in New York. The last time I failed {against Teofimo Lopez}, so I have the opportunity to correct the mistake," said Richard Commey. "I have my whole country (Ghana) behind me. I have small children at home who want to be where I am, and I know that this is not an easy struggle, but I am going forward. Losing is part of boxing, so no matter how you lose, it's all about coming back. So, whatever happened to the fight of Teofimo Lopez, it ended, as it ended, and I took it as a man. I knew that I needed to return, and I came back stronger, and that is why Loma chose me, and on Saturday we will see who turns out to be stronger."

On the undercard, heavyweight Jared "Real Big Kid" Anderson (10-0, 10 KOs) will face Oleksandr Teslenko (17-1, 13 KOs).

“To be honest, he lost ahead of schedule to the cruiserweight, so that says it all. Emotionally, I had a pretty tough camp, but physically we are ready. Now, thanks to my team, I am well prepared for the fight. These guys mean a lot to me. They always support me behind my back, ”said Jared Anderson.

“I know that I am an underdog, but I don’t care what people say,” Oleksandr Teslenko said in turn.
