Several weeks ago Frank Sanchez (19-0, 13 KOs) defeated Efe Ajagba, the sparring partner of Tyson Fury (31-0-1, 22 KOs). Now Sanchez is challenging the "Gypsy King" himself. Mike Borao, the manager of the Cuban is confident that his boxer will beat the WBC heavyweight champion.
“I think Frank would beat Fury, but Tyson is no fool, so I doubt that Frank will get a chance to volunteer any time soon. Consequently, he will have to defeat more opponents like Ajagba to earn his position as a must-have,” Borao told Sky Sports.
"With Sanchez's current pace, I have no doubt that he will quickly become the No. 1 contender. The day Frank gets his chance to fight for the belt will be the day he becomes world champion!" added the manager of the Cuban.
Frank Sanchez is currently ranked fifth in the WBC rankings and trains with Eddie Reinoso. The Cuban is going to return to the ring on January 1 in a duel with Carlos Negron (25-3, 20 KOs).
