A. Emelianenko takes fight on short notice

AMC Fight Nights President announced that Alexander Emelianenko will replace Vyacheslav Vasilevsky in a duel with Marcio Santos. The meeting will take place on November 27 at the AMC Fight Nights 106 show in Syktyvkar, Russia.

“On the secret line, we were informed that Vyacheslav Vasilevsky was withdrawing from the fight against Marcio Santos - he fell ill. How did you get sick? Find out from him. It seems to me an inflammation of the cunning. This is bad news. But there is also a good one - Alexander Emelianenko comes out to replace him. Tireless, restless, ready to help out the organization and all the fans,” Gagzhiev said in a video posted on his Instagram.

40-year-old Emelianenko spent the last fight on September 18, defeating Artem Tarasov on points in a bare-knuckle fight.

As for Santos, the 32-year-old Brazilian had his last fight in August against Artur Huseynov. The meeting ended in a draw.
