Jaime Munguia (37-0, 30 KOs) and Sergiy Derevyanchenko (13-3, 10 KOs) qualified for the qualifying bout for the WBC World Middleweight Championship. At the moment, the golden-green belt in the weight category up to 72.5 kg belongs to Jermall Charlo.

Derevyanchenko, 35, is ranked third in the WBC rankings, although he hasn't won a fight in over two years and lost to Charlo in his last show. The Ukrainian will return to the ring in early December.

This is the second time the WBC has nominated Munguia and Derevyanchenko as candidates for a qualifying match. The first decision on the matter was published in August, but the Mexican told the World Boxing Council that he would like to fight Gabriel Rosado first.

The WBC decided to wait for Munguia, who recently beat a Philadelphia boxer on points. The fight with Derevyanchenko is to take place in April-May in the USA.
