The presidents of the four major boxing sanctioning bodies met. It was attended by Mauricio Suleiman (WBC), Gilberto Jesus Mendoza (WBA), Daryl Peoples (IBF) and Francisco Valcarcel (WBO). The topics of talks included unification bouts, among others.

An official press release was issued after the meeting stating that the meeting of the presidents of the organizations was very productive, especially in terms of discussing a possible future agreement in search of a unified bout agreement and that fans will soon know the details of the new rules.

It is possible that the decision that the WBC recently applied to Tyson Fury will become the generally applicable standard. A world champion approaching the mandatory defense deadline will always have 30 days to negotiate a unification bout with another champion, and if that happens, the official title challenger will have to wait for such a fight to be completed.
