Shakur Stevenson (17-0, 9 KOs) defeated Jamel Herring (23-3, 11 KOs) by TKO in the 10th round in the main event of Atlanta, Georgia. In the ring the 24-year-old American won the WBO super featherweight title.
The fight was a one-sided affair, with Stevenson dominating the ring from the first gong. The New Jersey boxer was definitely faster and more accurate in his attacking combinations.
Herring could not keep up with his opponent, and at one moment Stevenson's domination became so unquestionable that the referee decided to stop the fight. Thus, Stevenson became the undisputed champion of the world in the second weight class.
On the same night, Nicola Ali Walsh (2-0, 2 KOs) picked up his second professional win, stopping James Westley in the second round (1-1). The grandson of the famous Muhammad Ali achieved an early victory with accurate right shots.
