One of America's best boxers, 24-year-old Rio 2016 Olympic medalist Shakur Stevenson (16-0,8 KOs) has ambitious plans. He has already won the world featherweight title and is now aiming for the super featherweight crown. He faces his compatriot WBO champion Jamel Herring (23-2, 11 KOs) this coming Saturday. The two were previously thought to be on good terms, but Stevenson's recent statements contradict that claim.

"Jamel Herring is an awkward fighter with no particular style. It pisses me off sometimes. But I know he doesn't waste a second in training. He runs, swims and trains with weights. He always does the right thing. The other thing is that he's also a man who uses his size advantage to do his job with smaller guys. They say he's racing a lot of pounds to fit in at the super featherweight," Stevenson said.

"The media calls me a boring fighter, but my style makes me fight. Jamel Herring doesn't hit hard and I'm the diamond that shines the most under pressure. I'm younger, faster and stronger than Herring. Get ready for the birth of a superstar," added the boxer nicknamed "Fearless," who won his last fight by unanimous decision over Jeremiah Nakathila in June this year, winning the interim WBO belt. Shakur showed off his skills by completely dominating this fight.

The 35-year-old Herring defeated multi-time world champion Carl Frampton in his last appearance this April. It was the former Marine's third defense of the belt.
